About Us

Memari Rural Hospital is the principal hospital of the Memari – I Community Development Block serving patients from both the Memari – I Block and the Memari Municipality. It is situated in the Burdwan Sadar South Subdivision  of Purba Bardhaman District in the Indian state of West Bengal.  It is situated at a distance of approximately 30 kms from the district headquarters at Burdwan. The nearest railway station is Memari, located at a distance of approximately 1km from the hospital. The Memari – Monteswar Road serves as an important approach road to the hospital.

As per the 2011 Census, Memari Rural Hospital caters to a population of 2,18,425 people belonging to Memari – I Block and 41,551 people belonging to Memari Municipality. Hence, it covers a total population of about 259976 persons among which 47.51% belong to the Scheduled Castes and Tribes. 28.05% belong to the Below Poverty Line population.

Memari Rural Hospital is a 60-bedded hospital with separate Male, Female, Paediatrics and Infectious Wards. It is taken care that every patient is given optimal care. There is a well-equipped labour room with 4 labour tables and adjacent antenatal, postnatal and gynaecological wards. There is a well-equipped Sick Newborn Stabilization Unit to take care of the newborn. Mothers can feed their newborn in the spacious Breastfeeding Corner of our hospital at ease maintaining their privacy. There is an Operation Theatre where 100% sterilization and disinfection protocols are maintained.

Our hospital complies with the latest Biomedical and Waste Management and Handling Rules. There is an eye-soothing and colourful garden at the centre of the hospital premise. There is a shed adjacent to the garden which serves as a waiting hall for the patient relatives. Uniform signage has been installed at our hospital premise to locate each and every section of the hospital at ease. We aim at maintaining an eco-friendly environment at our hospital campus.

• Janani Suraksha Yojana & the Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram are also undertaken here
• Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana or Swasthya Sathi Scheme

Several others programmes like the Active Case Finding for TB, Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization and Mass Drug Administration for Filaria are carried out as per schedule.
